PsyCAF was founded by Consultant Psychologist Dr Samantha Piggott in 2015 after working for many years in the field of psychological trauma. Since this time, she has gone on to develop her private practice to specialise in Attachment-Informed Therapies such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Informed Practices and Therapeutic Life Story (TLS) for looked after, special guardianship, fostered and adopted children. 

 

PsyCAF has developed further by providing Private Assessments for Autism in Children and (within the wider children's services arena), Provides Consultancy and Training regarding ways to therapeutically parent children with trauma (incorporating  PACE-ful based practices) and also, to offer ongoing Clinical Support for Residential Children's Homes.

 

Dr Piggott has sought out passionate, caring, and professional clinicians to form the PsyCAF team and we are proud of our commitment, genuine dedication and care for the children, families and professionals we support. 

About PsyCAF's Founder:

Dr Sam - Has been working in the field of psychological trauma for the last 16 years and has completed numerous assessments and reports in this area. Dr Sam initially began Court Expert work in Australia during 2010, assisting the Court with child protection and criminal matters. Over the latter 10 years Dr Sam has focused on sexual trauma, complex trauma, developmental trauma and general psychological symptomatology stemming from adverse life experiences. Dr Sam’s area of particular interests are supporting those who have experienced trauma, from a parts (IFS) perspective.

 

As part of her daily practice she continues to work with children, adolescents and adults to complete assessments, reports, therapy and consultation. Dr Sam has an active role in the adoption, trauma and parenting arenas and she in a  Registered Psychologist.
